I am so excited to share some good news with you today… For the first time in my life, an eczema flare-up faded out without the use of any medication or steroid creams. This is such a great accomplishment, I can’t believe it!

For almost three weeks, despite the fact that I was eating super clean and supporting my body through detox, I was having a pretty severe eczema flare-up. My skin was so dry I couldn’t stretch my arms without my skin cracking. My neck, arms and chest were covered in dry, red, itchy patches that kept me awake at night. I presumed this was probably happening because my body was releasing toxins as a result of the detoxing I had been doing lately. If this was true, I knew I shouldn’t suppress the symptoms by rubbing steroid cream on my skin, as this would only keep the vicious circle going, so I tried to stay strong and see it through without any chemical help.

Instead, I tried to support my body by resting, moving, taking regular salt baths, having saunas, dry-brushing my skin, eating more alkaline foods, supplementing and drinking more green juice, nettle tea and fresh spring water.

And look, my skin’s clearing up! I am SO GRATEFUL. Now I know that I can do it.

There is a way out. My health is in my own hands.

To celebrate, I want to share with you a recipe for a clean green morning smoothie: it’s very satisfying, full of plant protein and cinnamon to help keep your blood sugar stable throughout the day, packed with greens for alkalization and more good stuff that makes your skin glow and energy flow :)

MY CLEAN GREEN MORNING SMOOTHIE (serves 1)

Equipment

A blender

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup of oat milk or any other nut/ seed milk you like
  • 1 banana
  • a handful of spinach
  • 3 tablespoons of goji berries, fresh or soaked for 15 minutes
  • 3 tablespoons of hemp seeds
  • 4 tablespoons of chia seeds + 2 tablespoons of golden flax seeds, soaked in water overnight
  • 3/4 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • a pinch of raw sea salt

Recipe

  1. Throw everything in your blender.
  2. Blend.
  3. Drink.
  4. Optional: decorate with some hemp seeds and a goji berry on top.
